Toyouke Omikami is the kami of agriculture and Industry, bestowing rice and other foods, clothing, and shelter. Toyouke Omikami was called from the Tanba region 1500 years ago as the kami to offer the sacred food to Amaterasu Omikami. At the Mikeden, the sacred Dining Hall for the kami in the Sanctuary, the dedication of the sacred food to Amaterasu Omikami has without fall been ceremoniously conducted twice a day both in the morning and the evening, since the foundation of the Geku.

お米をはじめとする衣食住のお恵みをお与えくださる守護神、豊受大御神をお祭りしています。天照大神のお食事を司る御饌都神として、内宮の創建から500年後に迎えられま­した。御垣内の御饌殿では、毎日朝夕の二度、天照大神に神饌を奉るお祭りがご鎮座以来一日も絶えることなく行われています。内宮とともに正宮を構成し、両宮を参拝する際に­は外宮を参拝した後に内宮へ参るのがしきたりとされています。
